Part-time PhD Peer Reviewer – Physical Chemistry

About the role

This is a long‑term, stable part‑time position that can be performed remotely. The successful candidate will act as a peer reviewer for manuscripts in the field of physical chemistry, providing expert evaluation and constructive feedback to support high‑quality scientific publishing.

Key responsibilities

• Assess the novelty of submitted manuscripts and determine their contribution to the field.
• Evaluate study design, methodology, and reproducibility of the research.
• Check that the literature review is comprehensive and up‑to‑date.
• Analyse results and conclusions to ensure they are clearly presented and supported by data.
• Provide detailed, constructive feedback highlighting strengths, weaknesses, and any ethical concerns.
• Recommend acceptance, revision, or rejection based on the overall assessment.

Required profile

• Doctorate (PhD) or equivalent advanced degree in physical chemistry or a closely related discipline.
• At least five peer‑reviewed papers published in SCI/SSCI journals within the last three years.
• Strong analytical, critical‑thinking and written communication skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines, manage time effectively and maintain confidentiality.
• Prior experience as a peer reviewer is highly desirable.

Required skills

• Familiarity with online manuscript submission and review systems.
