Procurement Category Specialist

About the role

METRO, part of the international METRO AG group, is looking for a Category Specialist in Belgrade. The role turns data into decisions, negotiations into partnerships and products into customer value: building assortments, driving promotions and working with suppliers and cross-functional teams to shape what customers see.

Key responsibilities

• Build and manage the product category, from item selection to supplier negotiation and finalising the METRO catalog
• Work with Distribution Centers, Sales, Marketing, Logistics and other departments to ensure smooth category execution
• Track and update special offers for HoReCa, Traders and SCO customers with the Category Manager
• Cooperate with the Layout team on product placement strategies in stores
• Maintain up-to-date supplier contracts and documentation, and update purchasing and selling prices in the system

Required profile

• 1 to 3 years of experience
• Skilled negotiator who finds win-win solutions
• Strong problem analysis skills and empathy in communication
• Team player with a growth mindset
• Clear written and spoken Serbian and English

Required skills

• Confident in MS Office, especially Excel
• Well organised with systems and documentation
