Product Owner – Recommendation Systems

About the role

Social Discovery Group is seeking a Product Owner to lead the end‑to‑end development of its recommendation systems. You will own the product vision, turn ideas into testable hypotheses, and drive rapid delivery while working with a globally distributed, remote team.

Key responsibilities

• Identify growth opportunities and product bottlenecks using data, research, and intuition.
• Formulate clear, testable hypotheses and define success criteria.
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, and analysts to bring ideas to production quickly.
• Manage requirements, priorities, and timelines to ensure predictable delivery.
• Analyze experiment results and product metrics to determine what worked.
• Iterate, optimize, and scale successful solutions based on insights.

Required profile

• Strong product thinking with a bias toward execution.
• Ability to move from idea to hypothesis to delivery without losing momentum.
• Experience formulating hypotheses, defining requirements, and validating results.
• Comfort with both qualitative and quantitative product research.
• Proven ability to work cross‑functionally with designers, analysts, and engineers.
• Data‑driven mindset focused on results rather than process.
• Ownership mentality, clear communication, and resilience to changing priorities.
