Senior AWS Infrastructure Engineer

About the role

Synechron is looking for a Senior AWS Infrastructure Engineer to design, implement and continuously improve enterprise‑grade AWS and Kubernetes environments. The role focuses on AWS EKS operations, production reliability, automation, observability, networking and security, and will be based in a hybrid model in Novi Sad or Belgrade.

Key responsibilities

• Design and maintain multi‑tenant AWS architectures with high availability, disaster recovery and security.
• Manage Day 2 operations for AWS EKS, including zero‑downtime upgrades and node‑group rollouts.
• Troubleshoot and restore degraded Kubernetes workloads in production.
• Configure Karpenter autoscaling, Hub‑and‑Spoke VPCs and Transit Gateway networking.
• Implement network and platform security controls such as AWS Network Firewall, WAF, VPN and IAM policies.
• Provision resilient storage and database solutions using RDS, EBS and S3.
• Use Terraform and Terraform Cloud for IaC, and GitOps with ArgoCD and Helm for deployments.
• Build CI/CD pipelines and maintain observability with OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana and Amazon Managed Grafana.

Required profile

• 5+ years of hands‑on experience in Cloud Infrastructure, Platform Engineering or Site Reliability Engineering.
• Proven experience operating large‑scale AWS and Kubernetes platforms in production.
• Strong background in infrastructure automation, capacity planning, incident management and root‑cause analysis.
• Ability to work independently, quickly understand existing environments and deliver solutions with minimal supervision.
