Senior DevOps / Platform Engineer - GCP

About the role

We are seeking a Senior DevOps / Platform Engineer to design, build, and operate GoMining's cloud platform on Google Cloud. The role focuses on GCP, Kubernetes, infrastructure automation, and ensuring the reliability and security of production services. You will maintain existing infrastructure, contribute to next‑generation platform development, and help product teams ship changes safely.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and operate GCP infrastructure including GKE, VMs, networking, load balancers, storage and managed services.
• Manage Infrastructure as Code with Terraform: create modules, handle state, ensure reproducible changes and detect drift.
• Operate Kubernetes clusters: upgrades, autoscaling, workload placement, network policies and resource allocation.
• Build CI/CD and GitOps pipelines using GitLab CI, Flux or Argo CD, supporting automated builds, checks, deployments, rollbacks and controlled releases.
• Implement observability: metrics, logs, distributed tracing, SLIs/SLOs, alerts and dashboards.
• Troubleshoot production incidents, perform root‑cause analysis and eliminate recurring failures.
• Enforce security best practices: least‑privilege access, secret management, environment isolation and audit controls.
• Maintain backup and recovery processes meeting defined RPO/RTO.
• Assist engineering teams with health checks, telemetry, deployment procedures and cost optimisation.

Required profile

• Strong hands‑on experience operating production infrastructure and Kubernetes, including upgrades, disaster recovery and troubleshooting.
• Deep expertise with GCP services (GKE, Compute Engine, VPC, IAM, Cloud Storage, Cloud SQL, Cloud Logging, Cloud Monitoring).
• Extensive experience with Terraform (modules, remote state, locking, safe apply).
• Proven ability to deliver infrastructure changes independently and collaborate with engineering and security teams.
