Senior Firmware Engineer - Data Acceleration

About the role

Join AMD’s ICT DACC Firmware Engineering Team to develop firmware for next‑generation data acceleration technologies across server and semi‑custom ASIC product lines. You will work in both pre‑silicon and post‑silicon environments, contributing to cutting‑edge acceleration solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop low‑level firmware for embedded systems in an RTOS environment, supporting AMD proprietary and industry‑standard technologies such as SDx.
• Collaborate with BIOS, power management, architecture, design, and verification teams to deliver integrated firmware solutions.
• Participate in pre‑silicon validation, co‑simulation with IP, and SOC emulation, as well as post‑silicon enablement and production cycles.
• Maintain the full design lifecycle of embedded firmware, from pre‑silicon through production, including debugging and bug‑fix implementation.

Required profile

• Strong background in firmware development with solid technical knowledge.
• Excellent problem‑solving, organizational, and communication skills.
• Experience with hardware concepts is a strong asset.

Required skills

• Specialist in C; strong in C++ or Python.
• Experience with memory‑mapped I/O and PCIe application concepts.
• Hands‑on experience with end‑to‑end firmware from pre‑silicon to production.
• Proficiency in firmware lab debugging, triaging, and silicon bring‑up.
• Experience in device driver or embedded firmware development.
• Knowledge of Zephyr RTOS and communication protocols.
• Comfortable in Linux build environments.
