Senior / Lead UI/UX Designer

About the role

Clay, a global design agency building digital products and brands for clients such as Slack, Google, Snapchat, Amazon and Coinbase, is hiring a Senior UI/UX Designer or UI/UX Design Lead. The position is full-time and remote, or from the office in Serbia, and suits a confident designer with a strong portfolio who can take ownership of projects. Depending on experience and interest, the role may also involve mentoring designers, coordinating a team and shaping design processes.

Key responsibilities

• Lead projects from research and discovery to final delivery, ensuring client-ready results
• Review and refine team work, give constructive feedback and step in with hands-on support when needed
• Mentor and guide UI/UX Designers while maintaining high design standards
• Own client updates, from final design checks to organizing presentation materials
• Improve workflows, optimize design processes and keep project files and documentation organized
• Validate design estimates and communicate priorities early to support project planning
• Oversee design system creation and implementation, ensuring consistency across projects
• Foster a collaborative design culture through guidelines, workshops and knowledge sharing

Required profile

• 5+ years of digital design experience, including at least 2+ years in a leadership role within an agency or product team
• Experience leading projects from research to delivery, with quality and consistency at every stage
• Comfortable with design reviews, giving constructive feedback and setting clear quality standards
• Strong written English; spoken English fluency preferred

Required skills

• Hands-on UI/UX skills combined with the ability to guide and mentor designers
• Building and managing scalable design systems
• Design operations: organizing workflows, structuring files, preparing documentation and optimizing collaboration
• Collaborating with PMs and developers, and owning client-facing deliverables and presentations
