Senior SAP Transportation Management Consultant (German)

About the role

NTT DATA is seeking an experienced Senior SAP Transportation Management Consultant who is fluent in German to join complex SAP S/4HANA transformation programmes. The role involves close collaboration with business stakeholders, solution architects and cross‑functional SAP teams to design and deliver end‑to‑end transportation management processes.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement SAP Transportation Management (TM) solutions based on business requirements and SAP best practices.
• Facilitate Fit‑to‑Standard workshops, perform Fit‑Gap analyses and translate findings into scalable TM configurations.
• Configure and optimise TM processes including transportation planning, freight order management, carrier management, freight settlement and the Transportation Cockpit.
• Contribute to TM architecture and integration design within S/4HANA environments, supporting links to SAP EWM, SAP SD, MM, Finance and Yard Management.
• Support data migration, testing, defect resolution, cut‑over preparation and deployment activities.
• Provide guidance to junior consultants and ensure solution governance aligns with enterprise architecture.
• Travel onsite to Germany on a schedule agreed with project needs.

Required profile

• Several years of hands‑on experience with SAP TM in implementation, rollout or transformation projects.
• Strong functional expertise across transportation planning, execution, freight order management, carrier management and charge calculation.
• Proven experience with SAP S/4HANA Transportation Management and the SAP ACTIVATE methodology.
• Solid knowledge of integration points with SAP EWM, SAP Integration Suite and other SAP modules (SD, MM, Finance, Yard Management).
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and stakeholder‑management skills, with the ability to work independently and within distributed teams.
• Advanced proficiency in English and German.
