Senior Software Engineer - Pricing & Buying Experience

About the role

Fivetran (now combined with dbt Labs) is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to work on the Core Experience group, focusing on Pricing and Buying features. This full‑time role involves delivering valuable customer features, improving architecture, and ensuring reliable service operation.

Key responsibilities

• Implement functionality for the Core Experience area (Pricing and Buying).
• Contribute to feature enhancements and bug fixes.
• Write well‑designed, testable code and optimise it for performance.
• Improve test coverage and refactor code for maintainability.
• Follow up on incidents, write postmortems and prepare mitigation plans.
• Collaborate closely with teammates to achieve milestone goals.
• Document work and share information with the team.

Required profile

• Strong coding, technical and problem‑solving skills with professional Java experience in production.
• Experience in reliable distributed systems handling high‑volume data under strict SLAs.
• Ability to write well‑structured Java code following best practices.
• Capability to specify software designs that satisfy project requirements.
• Expertise with popular cloud platforms, cloud‑based APIs and databases.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting existing code.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
