Senior/Lead Mobile Engineer

About the role

Orion Innovation is seeking a proactive Senior/Lead Mobile Engineer to drive the evolution of its mobile applications through AI integration. You will act as the technical bridge between the mobile squad and customers, ensuring AI models are efficiently deployed to native iOS and Android platforms while guiding the team toward innovative, high‑performance solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and implement AI‑driven features, evaluating the current codebase and proposing risk‑mitigating solutions.
• Optimize app performance to deliver seamless user experiences.
• Stay current with emerging AI frameworks and tools to enhance the mobile development lifecycle.
• Lead the mobile pod, providing mentorship, code reviews, and setting coding standards for AI‑enabled solutions.
• Identify technical debt early and propose mitigation strategies.
• Define future mobile platform architecture that is modular, testable, and ready for rapid AI integration.
• Collaborate with product, UX/UI, and backend teams to design efficient APIs for AI features.
• Manage stakeholder communication, translating technical constraints into business‑friendly language.

Required profile

• Minimum 6 years of professional mobile development experience (iOS with Swift/Objective‑C and/or Android with Kotlin/Java).
• Proven track record leading technical projects or mentoring junior engineers.
• Experience shipping applications that incorporate AI/ML capabilities.
• Experience working in larger teams (10+ engineers) and complex enterprise codebases is a plus.

Required skills

• Deep understanding of mobile architecture patterns.
• Proficiency in native iOS (Swift, Objective‑C) and/or native Android (Kotlin, Java).
• Hands‑on experience with AI/ML integration on mobile platforms.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins).
• API design and integration for AI‑powered features.
