Team Lead .NET Engineer – Full Remote

About the role

Social Discovery Group (SDG) builds globally impactful social discovery platforms and operates fully remotely. They are seeking a Team Lead .NET Engineer to own the modernization of a monolith application into micro‑services and to guide a distributed engineering team.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end delivery of the monolith‑to‑microservices modernization, from legacy analysis to production release.
• Partner with Product and Architecture to review specifications, map legacy dependencies and produce realistic estimates.
• Guide architectural decisions across .NET Core services, databases and frontend integrations, handling complex backend, data‑migration and production incidents.
• Improve day‑to‑day team processes: tighter Jira task tracking, more accurate estimation and fast bug resolution through strong QA partnership.
• Conduct regular 1‑on‑1s focused on career goals and drive feedback loops to keep the team engaged and improving.

Required profile

• Solid .NET engineering background with deep expertise in C#.NET 8 and ASP.NET Core.
• Strong understanding of web application architecture, REST APIs, micro‑services patterns, message brokers (RabbitMQ) and database design (PostgreSQL, MS SQL Server, Redis).
• Practical experience modernizing legacy systems, refactoring monorepos to micro‑services and containerization using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Ability to act as the technical escalation point for complex implementation, data‑migration or performance issues.
• Proven experience managing engineering teams, including 1‑on‑1s, performance reviews and objective evaluations.
• Track record in delivery management: Jira task tracking, disciplined processes and predictable releases.
• Experience reviewing business specs, assessing technical feasibility and providing high‑level estimates in partnership with product owners.
