Toolshop Construction Engineer

About the role

The Machining Technologist is responsible for developing, defining, and improving machining processes on conventional and CNC machines, ensuring high quality, efficiency, and optimal production costs within the Toolshop.

Key responsibilities

• Create 2D technical drawings and 3D models for machined parts.
• Define and optimise machining processes (milling, turning, grinding, cutting) and program CNC machines using CAD/CAM systems.
• Select materials, cutting tools, machining parameters and clamping methods.
• Prepare and regularly update technical documentation, procedures and work instructions.
• Provide technical support to machine operators and ensure quality control of manufactured parts.
• Support the maintenance team in resolving technical issues and monitor tool and material conditions.
• Drive continuous improvement of production processes to increase productivity and reduce costs.
• Work within the SAP PM system, maintain records and prepare reports.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar toolshop or production role.
• Strong knowledge of machining technologies: milling, turning, grinding, cutting, bending.
• Experience with conventional and CNC machines.
• Proficiency with CAD/CAM software (e.g., Autodesk Inventor, Fusion 360, AutoCAD).
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and documentation.
• High level of accuracy, responsibility and organisation.
• Problem‑solving abilities in technical environments.
• Fluent English.
