C++ Software Engineer – SDK System & Performance

About the role

Join Cisco Silicon One™ to develop and enhance the SDK, firmware, simulator, and compiler for high‑performance networking ASICs. You will work on device‑agnostic C++ projects, focusing on performance, scalability, and long‑term maintainability.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver core, cross‑device SDK infrastructure using modern C++ (C++14/C++17).
• Drive system‑level engineering across the build and runtime stack, including compiler, linker, loader, and binary layout considerations.
• Own and improve the SDK’s memory footprint and debuggability, creating mechanisms for observability and reliability.
• Diagnose complex compile‑time and runtime issues, such as performance regressions and memory behavior, and implement durable fixes.
• Develop and maintain low‑level tooling and debug layers (e.g., allocation tracking/interposition).
• Collaborate with partner teams to shape SDK architecture, design patterns, and engineering practices.

Required profile

• 3+ years of professional C++ and system programming experience.
• Strong knowledge of Linux runtime environment and subsystems.
• Completed BSc or MSc in Computer Technology or related field.
• Fluent spoken and written English.
