Contracts Specialist II

About the role

As a Contracts Specialist II you will support Thermo Fisher Scientific’s mission by providing expert contract review, drafting, and negotiation for commercial agreements across the organization. You will work within the Legal Function, collaborating with cross‑functional teams to manage the full contract lifecycle while ensuring compliance with corporate policies and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Review, draft, and negotiate commercial contracts and legal documents.
• Manage contract lifecycle from initiation through execution and renewal.
• Ensure contracts comply with corporate policies, regulatory standards, and, where applicable, government contracting (FAR) requirements.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to mitigate risk and protect company interests.
• Maintain accurate records in contract management systems and enterprise platforms.
• Support multiple projects simultaneously and meet defined deadlines.

Required profile

• Advanced degree (no prior experience required) OR Bachelor’s degree plus at least 2 years of experience in contract administration, drafting, and negotiation.
• Preferred fields of study: Business, Law, or related disciplines.
• Professional certifications in contract management are a plus.
• Strong analytical, communication, and negotiation abilities.
• Fluent English, both written and verbal.
• Willingness to travel as needed.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
• Experience using contract lifecycle management systems.
• Familiarity with enterprise software such as SAP and Salesforce.
