Core IP Network Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Core IP Network Engineer to operate and maintain our triple‑site, multi‑homed core network infrastructure. You will ensure high availability, performance, and security of L2/L3 services while collaborating with internal teams and upstream providers.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and maintain a multi‑site core network, ensuring resilience and redundancy.
• Manage and optimise BGP routing, including peering, policy control, traffic engineering and failover.
• Deliver and support L2/L3 services such as Internet transit, VPN/SD‑Branch and infrastructure hosting.
• Configure, deploy and troubleshoot network equipment (Fortinet, MikroTik and other vendor platforms).
• Detect incidents, perform root‑cause analysis and resolve issues across core and customer‑facing services.
• Implement new network services and integrate additional vendors into the existing architecture.
• Monitor network performance, capacity and availability, focusing on resilience.
• Work with upstream providers on routing, peering and service delivery.
• Provide advanced support and escalation handling for internal teams and business customers.
• Maintain up‑to‑date documentation, network diagrams and configuration standards.

Required profile

• College degree in IT or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar network engineering role.
• Strong knowledge of networking protocols and technologies (routing, BGP, switching, security).
• Familiarity with 802.11‑based wireless networks.
• Fortinet, Cisco or MikroTik certification is a plus.
• Excellent command of English and solid computer skills.
• Ability to work independently, strong analytical and organisational skills, and adherence to procedures.
