Data Engineer II – Cloud and Data Team

About the role

Rivian’s Autonomy organization is looking for a Data Engineer II to join its Cloud and Data team. In this role you will design, build and maintain scalable data pipelines that power the company’s data‑driven initiatives across the autonomous vehicle platform.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain robust, scalable data pipelines using AWS, Python, SQL and Databricks.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to gather data requirements and deliver solutions that meet business needs.
• Process large datasets, ensuring data quality, integrity and reliability throughout the data lifecycle.
• Leverage Apache Spark within the Databricks environment for high‑performance data processing.
• Implement and optimise ETL workflows, including containerisation and orchestration with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Support Data Scientists and Analysts by providing reliable data infrastructure.
• Stay up‑to‑date with industry trends and best practices to continuously improve data engineering processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience building data and analytics platforms on AWS using Python, SQL and Databricks.
• Hands‑on experience with distributed systems such as Apache Spark.
• Knowledge of automation and CI/CD best practices.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities and a collaborative mindset.
