DevOps Engineer – Remote (Worldwide)

About the role

CloudLinux is seeking a DevOps Engineer to join the Patchman team. You will work remotely from anywhere, stabilising and modernising existing infrastructure while integrating it with the broader platform.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain the Patchman backend infrastructure.
• Develop new product features from design through implementation and testing.
• Investigate and resolve complex customer‑reported issues, digging into the codebase to find root causes.
• Operate and maintain a large fleet of dedicated servers, including API gateways, load balancers, and internal processing nodes.
• Implement and improve CI/CD pipelines for automated delivery.
• Write and maintain comprehensive unit and integration tests.
• Monitor performance and reliability of production systems, proactively identifying improvement areas.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to refine architecture and guide technical direction.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional experience as a Backend or DevOps developer.
• Proficiency in at least one high‑level programming language.
• Experience designing backend services with strong focus on performance, concurrency, scalability, and reliability.
• Strong Linux systems administration skills, including troubleshooting, process management, networking, filesystems, systemd services, and log analysis.
• Hands‑on experience building high‑throughput data pipelines using technologies such as Apache Kafka, ClickHouse, or RabbitMQ.
• Experience with SQL databases (PostgreSQL) and in‑memory databases (Redis).
• Understanding of relational, NoSQL, and in‑memory key‑value storage paradigms.
• Practical experience with Docker and Docker Compose for development and production.
