Director of Mobile and Web Platform

About the role

Tide is seeking a senior leader to own the technical direction of its mobile and web platforms. As Director of Mobile and Web Platform you will guide the Client Engineering organisation, ensuring the frontend ecosystem remains a competitive advantage for the business.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the Client Engineering team responsible for Tide’s mobile and web applications, covering Core Architecture, Engineering Productivity and Quality Engineering.
• Partner with Staff Engineers to define and advocate a pragmatic frontend strategy that balances performance, maintainability and commercial goals.
• Identify and resolve bottlenecks in large‑scale monorepo workflows, keeping the codebase sustainable.
• Evaluate the current technology stack and workforce model to maximise engineering leverage without compromising tool suitability.
• Drive product virtualisation and observability initiatives to give global stakeholders full visibility into the product experience.
• Ensure delivery excellence through modern release engineering practices.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading large engineering teams and delivering complex frontend platforms at scale.
• Strong architectural mindset with a track record of improving code health and development efficiency.
• Ability to influence technical direction across multiple product teams and geographies.
• Excellent communication skills to champion frontend standards and best practices.

Required skills

• Deep knowledge of frontend architecture and monorepo management.
• Experience with performance optimisation and observability tooling.
• Familiarity with modern release engineering and continuous delivery pipelines.
