Embedded Software Engineer – Smart Module

About the role

We are seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to develop, maintain and debug Android and Linux BSP components for our Smart module platforms. The role involves close collaboration with hardware and support teams to deliver reliable connectivity solutions for automotive and IoT applications.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, customize and debug Android/Linux BSP components for Smart module platforms.
• Address Linux kernel‑level issues such as Device Tree configuration, GPIO setup, pin control and driver customization.
• Support hardware bring‑up and integration of LCD, touch panel, camera, sensors, charger, audio, UART, I2C, SPI and other interfaces.
• Analyze customer requirements and provide technical solutions for platform customization.
• Debug issues using ADB, fastboot, QFIL, serial console, kernel logs and Android logs.
• Investigate and resolve complex customer‑reported problems related to kernel drivers, boot behavior and system stability.
• Review schematics and hardware design documents to aid board‑level debugging.
• Participate in code reviews, documentation and knowledge‑sharing activities.
• Collaborate with FAE, hardware, testing and customer support teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Embedded Systems or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in Android/Linux BSP development; 5+ years is a strong advantage.
• Fluent English, both written and spoken.

Required skills

• Strong C programming.
• Linux kernel architecture, Device Tree, boot process, kernel modules and driver model.
• Linux device driver development, debugging and customization.
• Embedded communication interfaces: UART, I2C, SPI, USB, GPIO.
• Debugging tools: ADB, fastboot, QFIL, serial console, kernel logs, Android logs.
• Ability to read schematics and understand hardware/software interaction.
