OT Security Architect

About the role

The OT Security Architect designs, standardises, and governs cybersecurity architectures for Ball Corporation’s operational technology environments, including manufacturing plants and industrial control systems. The role ensures security is built‑in, operationally viable, and aligned with enterprise cyber‑defence strategies.

Key responsibilities

• Design and maintain OT cybersecurity reference architectures, patterns and standards.
• Define OT network segmentation, access‑control, monitoring and integration patterns that balance security with safety and uptime.
• Collaborate with Cybersecurity Architecture & Engineering to align OT designs with enterprise identity, network, logging and platform architectures.
• Work with GRC to address risks, ensure compliance and support risk‑acceptance processes.
• Partner with Cyber Defense Operations to enable effective monitoring, detection and incident response in OT environments.
• Provide architectural analysis for OT security assessments, gap identification and remediation guidance.
• Review plant‑level designs, deviations and exceptions to maintain architectural integrity.
• Guide OT modernisation, digital manufacturing and technology refresh initiatives.
• Support regional manufacturing and engineering teams with site‑specific security guidance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science or a related field.

Required skills

• Operational Technology (OT) security expertise.
• Industrial Control Systems (ICS) knowledge.
• Network segmentation and access‑control design.
• Monitoring, detection and incident‑response concepts for OT.
