Outdoor Cleaning and Waste Management Manager

About the role

The Outdoor Cleaning and Waste Management Manager will lead the planning, organization and coordination of all activities related to keeping open areas clean and managing waste across the entire site. This senior position ensures high standards of quality, safety and sustainability while overseeing external service providers.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and supervise operational plans, procedures and standards for outdoor cleaning, waste handling and public‑area maintenance.
• Allocate human, technical and material resources; prepare technical specifications and select service providers.
• Monitor and control external contractors, verify compliance with agreed quality standards and service execution.
• Design and manage collection, segregation, transport, recycling and disposal systems in line with regulations and sustainability goals.
• Collaborate with authorities, municipal utilities and internal units to ensure efficient implementation.
• Continuously assess site cleanliness, trigger intensified actions and emergency interventions when needed.
• Enforce occupational health, safety, environmental and fire‑protection regulations.
• Maintain records, produce regular reports, track performance indicators and propose improvements for service quality and cost optimisation.
• Conduct site inspections, identify operational risks and implement measures to guarantee high cleanliness, safety and functionality.

Required profile

• University degree, preferably in environmental protection, waste management, engineering, technology, organisational sciences, management or related fields.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in cleaning services management, municipal operations, waste management, environmental protection or complex facility operations.
• Experience coordinating services for large events or high‑traffic public spaces is advantageous.
• Active English proficiency at least B2 level.
