Senior Network Engineer & IT Support Lead

About the role

Rivian and Volkswagen Group Technologies are seeking a Senior Network Engineer who will also lead IT support activities across RivianVWG facilities and partner locations. The role combines hands‑on network infrastructure design, installation, and security with a strong focus on end‑user assistance and mentorship.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end network installation projects from planning through execution at corporate and vendor sites.
• Design, configure, and maintain LAN/WAN hardware including Cisco Nexus 9K switches, routers, access points, and FortiGate firewalls.
• Implement and manage enterprise security solutions using Cisco ISE, DNA Center, and FortiGate firewalls.
• Establish, test, and maintain site‑to‑site VPN tunnels with external vendors.
• Act as the primary escalation point for complex hardware, software, and routing issues.
• Prioritize and resolve support tickets based on business impact.
• Collaborate with remote IT teams, internal business units, and external partners.
• Provide training and mentorship to end users and junior staff.

Required profile

• Several years of experience in on‑premises network engineering and IT support leadership.
• Proven ability to manage large‑scale network projects and vendor relationships.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills under pressure.
• Excellent communication skills with a “teacher” mindset.
