Software Engineer – Python & Azure Backend (Wind Energy Platform)

About the role

Join a Belgrade‑based engineering team building a wind‑energy planning platform for a global energy technology company. You will work on a technically demanding product that transforms engineering, scientific and geospatial data into feasibility assessments and cost estimates for wind farm development.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain Python backend services and APIs on Azure, including serverless components.
• Develop and evolve the data layer: relational schemas, migrations and query performance.
• Modernize existing components by improving test coverage, reducing coupling and addressing technical debt.
• Build production pipelines for scientific, engineering and geospatial data.
• Translate engineering and business requirements into well‑reasoned technical solutions.
• Participate in solution design, technical estimation and code reviews.
• Collaborate directly with international stakeholders across Europe.

Required profile

• 4+ years of professional backend engineering experience, primarily with Python.
• Strong command of modern Python features such as type hints, asynchronous programming, data modelling and validation.
• Experience with a modern Python web framework (FastAPI, Django or Flask).
• Proficiency with relational databases and ORM patterns.
