Clinical Operations Manager – FSP

About the role

The Clinical Operations Manager – FSP will lead a team of clinical operations professionals, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will act as the primary escalation point for performance and training issues while collaborating with senior leadership on resourcing and strategic initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Coach, mentor and manage performance of clinical operations staff.
• Conduct regular performance appraisals, career discussions and support employee development.
• Oversee recruitment, onboarding and induction processes for new hires.
• Maintain accurate staff records, timesheets and expense reports.
• Allocate resources according to local resourcing processes and project needs.
• Deliver training on SOPs, Working Practice Documents and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor adherence to ethical and regulatory standards; coordinate quality audits.
• Utilise systems such as Activate, CTMS, Preclarus and Clarity to track KPIs and project metrics.
• Identify process improvement opportunities and contribute to bid preparation.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing clinical operations teams in pharma or biotech environments.
• Strong understanding of SOPs, WPDs and risk‑based monitoring approaches.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to analyse performance data and drive continuous improvement.
• Experience supporting recruitment, onboarding and staff development.
