CRO Lead

About the role

We are building a brand‑new conversion‑rate‑optimization department from the ground up for a high‑traffic e‑commerce brand. As a remote, full‑time contractor you will own the end‑to‑end funnel creation process and directly influence revenue on a $100M‑annualised traffic base.

Key responsibilities

• Own the landing‑page‑per‑winner pipeline, delivering a matching landing page within five business days of each qualifying ad.
• Write all front‑end copy, including landing pages, listicles, advertorials, pre‑landers, and product‑detail tests.
• Re‑architect offers using bundles, gift‑stacking, and subscription‑first models to reduce discount reliance.
• Develop post‑purchase economics such as upsell chains, VSL scripts, and take‑rate optimization.
• Run direct‑response checkout experiments measured by revenue per visitor and downstream metrics like chargebacks.
• Maintain a Funnel Test Log, pre‑registering every hypothesis before launch.
• Direct the existing CRO agency’s build and test capacity under your briefs.
• Hire and manage a funnel developer and later a copywriter as volume grows.

Required profile

• 4+ years of DTC experience (agency or in‑house) with full‑funnel ownership and measurable results.
• Proven expertise in direct‑response copywriting.
• Experience running CRO or funnel projects for brands generating $3M+/month revenue.
• Fluent with a direct‑response stack such as Checkout Champ, ClickFunnels, Funnelish, and Shopify.
• Data‑driven mindset: pre‑register hypotheses, run tests to statistical significance, and focus on revenue per visitor, AOV, and LTV.
