Database Engineer - Business Intelligence & Reporting

About the role

Synechron Serbia is hiring a Database Engineer to join its Business Intelligence and Reporting initiatives. You will support and optimize data processes so that clients can make agile, data-driven decisions. The role is hybrid, based in either the Belgrade or Novi Sad office, and involves a long-term project in investment banking.

Key responsibilities

• Create and maintain data structures for reporting systems, ensuring integrity and performance
• Develop and optimize data exchanges and integrations between platforms
• Design, develop and improve stored procedures, functions and scripts for data operations
• Optimize database and query performance through indexing, tuning and troubleshooting
• Collaborate on data modeling, database design and data warehousing architecture
• Build and enhance ETL processes and conduct source-to-target data mapping
• Communicate with team members and stakeholders and work within a distributed international team using Scrum/Agile methodology

Required profile

• Valid work permit for Serbia
• Proven experience developing stored procedures, functions and database scripts
• Deep expertise in query performance optimization, including indexing and tuning
• Solid background in data warehousing, data modeling and database design
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Required skills

• Expert SQL with hands-on experience in MS SQL Server or Redshift
• Strong understanding of RDBMS concepts
• ETL workflow development
• Nice to have: AWS tools, BI tools, financial services background
