Engineering Manager, Cloud Platform (Serbia)

About the role

Flosum is looking for a technical architect and engineering manager to lead a team of 10 to 15 engineers building cloud-native applications. It is a hybrid role combining deep hands-on technical leadership with people management.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the architecture, performance and scalability of a Node.js-based platform running primarily on AWS, while keeping it hyperscaler-agnostic so it can run on GCP, Azure and others
• Own the technical direction of the platform, mentor senior engineers and work with product and engineering leadership to ship high-quality systems quickly
• Manage a team of 10 to 15 developers: set goals, run 1:1s, grow careers, hire and remove blockers
• Balance roadmap delivery with engineering health: code quality, system reliability, on-call hygiene and developer experience

Required profile

• 8+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years leading engineering teams
• Track record of improving performance, scalability and deployment velocity in production
• Proven ability to grow engineers, hire well and run a team that ships consistently

Required skills

• Deep expertise architecting distributed systems on AWS (compute, networking, data, IAM, observability)
• Strong Node.js background and a clear point of view on building maintainable services at scale
• Nice to have: multi-cloud or cloud-portable deployments (Kubernetes, Terraform, containerization), experience scaling SaaS platforms or developer-facing products, and AWS certifications such as Solutions Architect Professional or DevOps Engineer
