General Ledger Accountant

About the role

Publicis Re:Sources is seeking a General Ledger Accountant to support the North Macedonia market while being based in Belgrade, Serbia. The role focuses on accurate day‑to‑day ledger postings, month‑end closing, statutory reporting and tax compliance within a multinational shared‑services environment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform daily General Ledger postings and ensure all accounting controls are met.
• Support monthly closing, prepare accruals, exchange‑rate adjustments, and post P&L and balance‑sheet items.
• Compile the monthly reporting package for Group reporting.
• Review trial balances, identify irregularities and coordinate timely corrections.
• Maintain fixed‑asset records and calculate depreciation.
• Reconcile intercompany balances on a monthly basis.
• Collaborate with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, local Finance and Group Finance teams.
• Monitor North Macedonian accounting, statutory and tax regulations and implement required changes.
• Communicate with tax authorities and support internal and external audits.
• Assist with financial monitoring, internal audit requests and ad‑hoc Group Finance projects.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a multinational or shared‑services setting.
• Strong knowledge of North Macedonian accounting regulations, tax practices and statutory requirements.
• Practical experience in General Ledger accounting, month‑end closing and financial reporting.
• Good understanding of IFRS and IAS.

Required skills

• Proficiency with AB Soft accounting software.
• Experience using Oracle Hyperion or similar reporting tools.
