IT Monitoring Specialist

About the role

Paysend is seeking an IT Monitoring Specialist to join its Reliability Oversight and Control (ROC) team in Belgrade. The role involves 24/7 monitoring of the global payment platform, ensuring transactions are fast, reliable, and secure.

Key responsibilities

• Work on a rotating 12‑hour shift schedule as part of the 24x7 ROC team.
• Monitor infrastructure and payment services, collect diagnostic data, and escalate alerts.
• Create incident reports and coordinate engineers during critical incidents.
• Collaborate with engineers to improve observability, reduce noise, and shorten detection and recovery times.
• Diagnose technical problems using database queries and tools such as Zabbix, Grafana, OpenSearch, and log analysis.
• Suggest improvements to monitoring and response processes and contribute to internal documentation.

Required profile

• Ability to work 12‑hour day and night shifts from the Belgrade office.
• English proficiency at B1 level or higher.
• Basic knowledge of Windows and Linux administration.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities and stressful incidents.

Required skills

• Experience with monitoring tools such as Zabbix and Grafana.
• Familiarity with OpenSearch, SQL queries, and ITSM tools like Jira and Confluence.
• Basic networking concepts (TCP/IP, HTTP).
• Knowledge of virtualization/containerization, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Understanding of datacenter equipment and modern computer components.
• Basic scripting skills (JavaScript, Python, Bash/sh) are a plus.
