Lead Android Engineer (EMEA Remote)

About the role

We are looking for a senior‑level Android engineer to lead the design and development of high‑performance mobile applications that interact with a decentralized cloud platform. The role is fully remote within EMEA time zones and requires strong architectural judgment and ownership.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop high‑performance Android applications using Kotlin.
• Architect scalable, maintainable mobile solutions with a focus on performance and battery efficiency.
• Build intuitive, responsive UI following modern Android design principles.
• Integrate the app with distributed backend services, ensuring data synchronization, offline support and network resilience.
• Own the full mobile lifecycle from development through Play Store deployment, including CI/CD and release processes.

Required profile

• 5–6+ years of experience as a Senior or Lead Android Engineer.
• Strong expertise in Kotlin and the Android SDK.
• Proven experience with modern Android architectures such as MVVM and Clean Architecture.
• Deep understanding of Android performance optimisation, lifecycle management and memory/battery efficiency.
• Experience integrating RESTful APIs using Coroutines, Flow and asynchronous programming.
