Product Counsel

About the role

Proximus Global is looking for a Product Counsel to act as a trusted legal advisor across product, engineering, and commercial teams. You will guide the development, launch, and scaling of technology and telecom products while ensuring compliance with complex regulatory frameworks.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with cross‑functional teams throughout the product lifecycle to identify and translate legal and regulatory requirements into practical solutions.
• Advise on privacy, data protection, telecom and technology regulations relevant to product design, development, launch and operation.
• Identify, assess and mitigate legal, regulatory and commercial risks associated with products and services.
• Develop and maintain legal guidance, standards, playbooks and processes for operationalising compliance.
• Monitor regulatory developments and provide actionable guidance to product and business teams.
• Support international product launches by assessing country‑specific requirements and removing legal blockers.
• Draft, review and negotiate product, technology and commercial agreements.
• Provide training and guidance to internal stakeholders on legal and regulatory matters.

Required profile

• J.D., LL.B. or equivalent law degree with admission to practice law in at least one jurisdiction.
• 5+ years of legal experience in a technology‑driven environment (telecom, SaaS, digital platforms, or law firm).
• Strong background advising on privacy, data protection, telecom and technology regulation.
• Ability to understand technical architectures, product and data flows, and assess their legal implications.
• Proven capability to partner effectively with product, engineering and commercial teams.
