AI Automation Engineer

About the role

Zühlke, a Swiss-founded global transformation partner, is looking for an AI Automation Engineer in Belgrade. The role uses AI to rethink and improve the way the company works, drawing on experience with business processes in Finance, HR or IT. You will work with process owners to find where AI can make work faster, simpler or better, redesign those processes and build the supporting tooling, within a small cross-functional team close to the CTO office, IT and internal departments.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse existing business processes in Finance, HR and other departments and identify opportunities for AI-enhanced redesign.
• Redefine processes with process owners, combining AI tooling with practical automation.
• Design, build and integrate AI-enabled solutions, from prototypes to production-ready tools.
• Develop integrations, scripts and workflows using LLM APIs, AI agents, RAG and similar technologies.
• Assess AI use cases for feasibility, business value, cost and risk before implementation.
• Measure the impact of redesigned processes and iterate based on results.
• Document solutions and support teams as they adopt new AI-enabled ways of working.
• Coach teams on how to use AI effectively in their daily work.

Required profile

• At least five years of professional experience building software, including at least six months of hands-on experience applying AI to redesign business processes.
• Demonstrable experience with business processes in Finance, HR or IT, with practical examples.
• Ability to analyse, map and improve processes and to work independently and with stakeholders at all levels.
• Confident English communication in an international environment.
• Ideally experience in a consulting or professional services environment.

Required skills

• Solid programming and analytical skills.
• Hands-on experience with LLM APIs, AI coding assistants, agent frameworks, RAG or workflow automation platforms such as Microsoft Power Automate or Copilot Studio.
• Experience with APIs, integrations and cloud platforms.
