Assessment Scientist (Psychology, Psychometrics)

About the role

Syneos Health is hiring an Assessment Scientist (Masters in Psychology; Psychometrists) on a remote basis. The role leads scientific oversight of electronic patient-reported outcome assessment (eCOA) implementation, including endpoint scales, UAT and rater training, and works closely with vendors to deliver systems that meet protocol requirements.

Key responsibilities

• eCOA management: oversee implementation of endpoint scales into digital platforms, develop and review specifications with vendors, and own the UAT strategy, including writing and reviewing test scripts and running UAT to validate endpoint logic, workflows and data integrity.
• Scales management: license and copyright clinical outcome assessment scales, select and version control scales according to protocol endpoints, and oversee translation strategy so instruments are culturally appropriate across regions.
• Rater training: design and deliver rater training and certification programs, define qualification standards, monitor rater performance and lead remediation to standardize endpoint data collection.

Required profile

• MA/MS or graduate degree in psychology, behavioral sciences or a related field preferred.
• Knowledge of psychiatric and neuropsychiatric assessments, including patient-reported outcome measures; experience rating such assessments preferred.
• Experience in clinical research or the pharmaceutical industry.
• Ability to travel approximately 20% of the time.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Excellent planning, organizational and prioritization skills.
• Strong written and spoken communication and presentation skills.
