Financial Accounting Associate – Compensation Accounting

About the role

BlackRock is seeking a qualified accountant to join its Compensation Accounting team in Belgrade. The associate will support the recording of compensation and benefits expenses, working closely with global finance partners and internal stakeholders such as HR Payroll, Legal Entity Controllers and external auditors. This position offers exposure to a high‑performing multinational finance environment.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure compensation expense is recorded in accordance with GAAP.
• Prepare balance‑sheet reconciliations and certify the balance sheet each month.
• Present commentary on P&L and balance‑sheet movements to stakeholders.
• Liaise with Payroll, HR, legal entity controllers and tax teams.
• Assist with project deliverables for new payroll systems and the Oracle general ledger.
• Perform ad‑hoc duties and monthly tasks as assigned.

Required profile

• CA/ACCA/CIMA qualified.
• Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in financial services or a large listed company.
• Self‑motivated, proactive and able to work under tight deadlines.
• Strong task‑management, organizational and analytical abilities.
• Experience liaising with external auditors and cross‑functional finance teams.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel and data‑manipulation skills.
• Experience with Oracle General Ledger.
• Knowledge of GAAP accounting principles.
