Fractional Head of Growth & Operations

About the role

BE THAT LAWYER is seeking a part‑time leader to own and accelerate its growth engine. Reporting directly to founder Steve Fretzin, you will turn existing content, events, and community assets into qualified leads, new members, and revenue while managing a small marketing team and external vendors.

Key responsibilities

• Convert content and events into qualified leads and measurable business opportunities.
• Scale the online community from ~100 members to several hundred active members.
• Lead the internal marketing team and coordinate external vendors and virtual assistants.
• Design, implement, and maintain a new CRM system to automate follow‑up processes.
• Identify, negotiate, and activate strategic partnerships such as bar associations.
• Launch projects on schedule without requiring constant oversight from the founder.

Required profile

• Proven experience growing founder‑led professional‑services, coaching, consulting, membership, or personal‑brand businesses.
• Track record of generating leads, expanding memberships, and building strategic pipelines.
• Strong project and people‑management abilities, especially with contractors and virtual assistants.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with a bias toward action, experimentation, and results.
• Comfort working independently, juggling multiple priorities, and pivoting based on data.
