Freight Forwarding Team Lead

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Freight Forwarding Team Lead to manage and grow our international road shipment operations across the Balkan and EU regions. The role combines hands‑on operational oversight with strategic carrier management and team leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise, train and mentor a team of freight forwarding staff, setting performance targets and managing daily workloads.
• Coordinate complex international road shipments, ensuring optimal route planning from origin to destination.
• Negotiate freight rates with carriers and build strategic partnerships to maintain competitive pricing.
• Ensure accurate preparation of all shipping documents (CMR, Bill of Lading, AWB) and compliance with Serbian customs regulations.
• Handle escalations, resolve transport disruptions and maintain high customer satisfaction through proactive communication.
• Monitor profit margins, oversee invoicing of freight charges and additional costs.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience in freight forwarding road business between the Balkan region and the EU.
• In‑depth knowledge of Serbian transport and customs regulations and all transport modes (Express, FTL, PTL/LTL, palletized transport).
• Proven ability to work under stress in a competitive environment.
• Leadership experience with team coaching is desirable.
• Experience managing international freight tenders.
