Head of Finance (Remote) – Russian Speaker

About the role

Whizz, the leading e‑bike subscription service for gig delivery workers in North America, is looking for a Head of Finance who can lead the finance and accounting function remotely. The role reports directly to the CEO and requires fluency in Russian to support our multilingual operations.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and ensure accuracy of P&L, cash‑flow, and balance‑sheet; manage monthly close on schedule.
• Oversee inventory and fleet accounting, including capitalization, depreciation, disposals, and reconciliation of operational records.
• Maintain and update the company’s financial model; build annual and quarterly budgets with department heads and report variances.
• Design and implement financial controls: approval procedures, spend limits, segregation of duties, and cash/receivable/payable oversight.
• Manage in‑house accountants and outsourced accounting firm, setting clear deadlines and quality standards.
• Supervise payroll, multi‑state tax registrations, statutory reporting, audit readiness, and payment processing operations.

Required profile

• 7+ years in accounting/finance with full monthly close ownership (Controller, Head of Finance, etc.).
• Experience in the US market, especially with inventory and fixed‑asset accounting for a physical business.
• Multi‑state payroll and tax compliance expertise.
• Proven ability to lead accounting staff and manage external providers.
• Track record of building finance processes from the ground up.

Required skills

• Strong systems skills, including accounting system implementation or migration.
