Impact & Insights Officer

About the role

The Media Development Investment Fund (MDIF) is looking for an Impact & Insights Officer to measure, analyse and communicate the impact of its global investments in independent media. The role blends data analysis, monitoring & evaluation and strategic insight to turn data into compelling narratives for internal decision‑making and external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and enhance MDIF’s impact measurement framework and data systems.
• Collect, analyse and visualise data across a global portfolio; develop dashboards and reporting tools.
• Produce quarterly and annual impact reports for internal and external audiences.
• Standardise data collection processes and ensure data quality across teams and partners.
• Monitor sector trends and translate findings into actionable insights.
• Analyse communications and content performance; support storytelling through data.
• Provide data‑driven insights and impact narratives to support fundraising.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience in impact measurement, data analysis or monitoring and evaluation.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (social sciences, public policy, data science, statistics, economics, political science) or equivalent experience.
• Strong analytical skills with experience in both quantitative and qualitative analysis.
• Fluency in spoken and written English.
• Alignment with MDIF’s mission to support independent media.
