Infrastructure Firmware Engineer

About the role

AMD’s Platform Firmware Quality group is seeking an Infrastructure Firmware Engineer to lead the design, implementation and delivery of firmware infrastructure across AMD’s GPUs, APUs and CPUs. The role combines hands‑on technical work with technical leadership, guiding projects from concept through validation and release.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end delivery of infrastructure firmware features, from scoping and design to implementation, validation and release.
• Drive architectural decisions and define firmware interfaces for AMD’s platform stack.
• Collaborate with architects, program leadership and cross‑functional teams to manage inter‑dependencies and ensure timely delivery.
• Integrate and enhance CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and support virtual/simulation test environments.
• Implement signing enhancements and security improvements leveraging AKS and mTLS.
• Mentor and guide engineers to raise execution standards and quality.

Required profile

• Self‑driven engineer who takes ownership and can lead in ambiguous situations.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities and the capacity to influence without formal authority.
• Excellent communication skills and a commitment to high‑quality design and clean code.

Required skills

• Firmware development and Test‑Driven Development.
• Experience with pre‑silicon/post‑silicon environments: simulators, FPGAs and emulation platforms.
• CI/CD pipeline creation using GitHub Actions.
• Knowledge of AKS (Azure Kubernetes Service) and mTLS security mechanisms.
