Project Manager (AI Oriented)

About the role

Synechron, a global consulting firm, is hiring an experienced Project Manager to lead the delivery of AI, Generative AI, Machine Learning, Automation and data-driven initiatives. The role acts as the central link between clients, business stakeholders, technical teams and delivery leadership, covering the full project lifecycle from concept through deployment and operationalization. It is offered under a hybrid model in Novi Sad or Belgrade.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate cross-functional delivery teams on AI, GenAI, ML, automation and technology transformation projects.
• Act as the main client contact, managing expectations and stakeholder relationships.
• Define scope, objectives, timelines, milestones, resources, risks and success metrics with clients, architects and AI engineers.
• Build and maintain project plans, RAID logs, action trackers, status reports and executive communications.
• Support the AI lifecycle: discovery, data readiness, model development, testing, deployment, monitoring, retraining and operationalization.
• Drive adoption of Agile, Scrum, DevOps and continuous improvement practices, and ensure Responsible AI, privacy, security and compliance.
• Track scope, schedule, budget, quality, risks and business outcomes, and coach teams on delivery excellence.

Required profile

• 5+ years in project management, technology delivery, digital transformation, AI, data, analytics or automation.
• Proven track record managing complex technology projects from initiation through delivery and operational transition.
• Experience leading workstreams and coordinating cross-functional teams, and working directly with clients in consulting, outsourcing or enterprise delivery settings.
• Strong client-facing, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
• Valid work permit for Serbia required.

Required skills

• Agile, Scrum, Kanban, Waterfall or hybrid project delivery methods.
• Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), microservices, CI/CD, Docker and Kubernetes.
• Nice to have: Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, MS Project; banking, fintech or regulated industry experience; AI, GenAI or PMI-CPMAI certification.
