SAP BASIS Linux Administrator – L2 Support (Shift)

About the role

NTT DATA is looking for an experienced Linux Administrator to provide L2 operational support for SUSE Linux Enterprise Server environments across development, test and production systems. The role works within a 24x7 service model and requires participation in shift work, incident resolution and continuous improvement of the infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Provide L2 support for SUSE Linux servers, monitoring availability, performance and capacity.
• Respond to incidents and service requests, perform root‑cause analysis and document resolutions.
• Administer OS patching, upgrades, and lifecycle activities using Zypper and YaST.
• Configure and maintain security controls, firewalls, SSH, auditing and system hardening.
• Manage high‑availability clustering with Pacemaker and support virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper‑V, Azure VMs).
• Assist with Azure‑based Linux workloads, backup/restore operations and capacity planning.
• Process tickets in ServiceNow/SPC, follow ITIL change and release procedures, and maintain runbooks.
• Contribute to automation using shell scripting and share knowledge with junior team members.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience administering SUSE Linux Enterprise Server in development, test and production environments.
• Strong command‑line troubleshooting skills and familiarity with Linux user management, file systems, storage and services.
• Experience with high‑availability clustering (Pacemaker) and virtualization technologies.
• Ability to work in a 24x7 rotating three‑shift schedule and communicate effectively with customers and cross‑functional teams.
