Senior Logistics Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Logistics Engineer to lead and optimise logistics operations within an automotive chassis manufacturing plant. The role ensures seamless material flow from suppliers to production lines and final deliveries, supporting operational excellence and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop logistics teams, including material planners, production planners, warehouse staff and operators.
• Plan, coordinate and monitor end‑to‑end logistics processes to guarantee timely supply to chassis welding, assembly and production lines.
• Develop production, material and transportation plans based on customer schedules, capacity and inventory levels.
• Manage inventories of raw materials, components, sub‑assemblies and finished chassis using ERP/MES systems while maintaining optimal stock levels.
• Oversee warehouse operations, material handling equipment, AGV systems, packaging management and internal logistics activities.
• Implement and improve automotive logistics concepts such as FIFO, Kanban, JIT/JIS, Supermarket warehousing, PFEP, BOM management and MRP planning.
• Support new project launches by defining logistics processes, material flow, packaging solutions and supply‑chain readiness.
• Monitor material flow and production performance, identify risks and apply corrective actions to avoid disruptions.
• Coordinate communication between customers, suppliers, production, quality, purchasing and other departments.
• Manage transportation, shipping, import/export, customs procedures and customer delivery performance.
• Analyse logistics KPIs and drive improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of production logistics experience in the automotive industry.
• Strong knowledge of automotive logistics management processes.
• Professional proficiency in English.

Required skills

• ERP/MES systems (preferably SAP).
• FIFO, Kanban, JIT/JIS delivery concepts.
• Supermarket warehousing, PFEP, BOM management and MRP planning.
• AGV (Automated Guided Vehicle) systems.
• Warehouse operations and material handling equipment.
