Senior Principal AI & Data Platform Engineer

About the role

dataBob is building dataBobIQ, an AI‑powered Decision Intelligence platform that helps CFOs and management teams answer business questions, forecast the future and make better decisions. As the first Senior Principal AI & Data Platform Engineer you will shape the architecture, product and technology from day one.

Key responsibilities

• Design and build the data backend architecture of dataBobIQ.
• Develop AI‑powered workflows using modern large language models (LLMs) and Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG) techniques.
• Implement canonical financial data models, forecasting and recommendation services.
• Optimize SQL models for financial analytics and integrate AI capabilities into a production SaaS platform.
• Collaborate with frontend developers to deliver outstanding user experiences.
• Continuously improve architecture, performance and scalability.

Required profile

• Excellent Python programming skills.
• Strong SQL knowledge and experience with data modelling.
• Proven experience building backend applications and using Git with modern development practices.
• Hands‑on experience with cloud platforms, preferably Azure.
• Experience designing and deploying AI solutions, including LLM orchestration, tool calling, RAG, embeddings and vector databases.
