Senior Software Engineer (Distributed Systems/Cloud Infrastructure)

About the role

Shape the future of hybrid cloud management by designing and building core API infrastructure for Nutanix Prism, enabling seamless control and automation across on‑prem and public clouds.

Key responsibilities

• Design, architect, and build the next‑generation control‑plane infrastructure that powers business‑critical workloads on the Nutanix platform.
• Develop high‑quality, reusable code and unit tests for scalable, distributed systems in hybrid cloud environments.
• Define and write clear technical specifications and documentation in collaboration with product managers, architects, and technical leads.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams—including developers, testers, product management, and support—to drive features to completion.

Required profile

• BS/MS in Computer Science or related field with 8+ years of relevant industry experience.
• Proven experience solving complex problems in distributed environments and building fault‑tolerant, high‑performance systems.
• Strong programming skills in Java, Python, and/or Golang.
• Experience troubleshooting networked services on Linux.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes, Zookeeper, NATS, or similar large‑scale distributed applications is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to produce top‑notch technical documentation.
