Software Engineer - Distributed Data Systems

About the role
Databricks is building the world’s best data and AI infrastructure platform. As a Software Engineer on the Distributed Data Systems team in Belgrade, you will be a founding member of the site and help shape the Lakehouse vision through the entire development cycle.
Key responsibilities
- Drive requirements clarity and design decisions for ambiguous problems.
- Produce technical design documents and project plans.
- Develop new features for the storage and query engines.
- Mentor junior engineers and share best practices.
- Test, roll out to production, and monitor the systems.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
- 3+ years of production‑level experience in Java, Scala or C++.
- Strong foundation in algorithms and data structures.
- Experience with distributed systems, databases, and big‑data technologies such as Apache Spark and Hadoop.
- Motivation to deliver customer value and work toward a multi‑year vision.
