Vice President, Indirect Tax

About the role

The Global Indirect Tax Group at BlackRock is seeking a Vice President to lead the company’s worldwide indirect tax compliance and accounting framework. Reporting to the Global Head of Indirect Tax Compliance & Accounting, you will ensure accurate VAT, GST, DST and other indirect tax reporting across all jurisdictions.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee preparation, review and submission of indirect tax returns in multiple jurisdictions.
• Manage relationships with external service providers and tax advisors.
• Support governance and control activities for indirect tax compliance and accounting.
• Review recovery rate calculations, annual adjustments and refund requests, including foreign VAT/GST claims.
• Prepare and review indirect tax balance‑sheet reconciliations and journal postings.
• Provide indirect tax advice to business units in partnership with the Indirect Tax Advisory team.
• Monitor global regulatory developments and ensure timely compliance.
• Deliver indirect tax training and knowledge sharing across the organization.
• Assist with tax audits and respond to tax authority inquiries.
• Support tax aspects of organisational initiatives such as restructurings, expansions, new products, M&A and more.

Required profile

• Experienced VAT/GST/DST professional with strong technical expertise.
• Highly organized, detail‑oriented and able to thrive in a dynamic, global environment.
• Excellent project management abilities and stakeholder influence across functions and geographies.
• Proactive attitude toward change and continuous improvement.
