VMware Virtualization Engineer

About the role

Freedom Finance Technologies, a Cyprus‑based fintech, is seeking a VMware Virtualization Engineer to join its Virtualization and Network Infrastructure team. The role is fully remote and supports the company’s global trading and banking IT platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and develop production virtualization infrastructure based on VMware vSphere (ESXi, vCenter).
• Support high‑availability clusters, resolve incidents, and troubleshoot hypervisor performance, network, and storage issues.
• Work with Fibre Channel and iSCSI storage systems, including zoning and multipathing.
• Collaborate with network teams on VLANs, trunks, LACP, MTU/jumbo frames, and basic L2/L3 configurations.
• Participate in server hardware installation, remote management (iDRAC), and infrastructure modernization projects.

Required profile

• Experience administering VMware vSphere in production.
• Understanding of VMware architecture, ESXi scheduler, NUMA, memory and storage subsystems.
• Knowledge of storage technologies (Fibre Channel, iSCSI) and performance analysis.
• Familiarity with networking concepts for virtualization (VLANs, LACP, MTU).
• Understanding of KVM virtualization principles.
• Experience with enterprise server hardware (Dell, Supermicro) and remote management tools.
