Automotive Software Engineer

About the role

We are looking for an Automotive Software Engineer to join Eagle Wireless’ embedded‑Linux team. You will work on secure, reliable cellular modules for automotive and IoT applications, delivering Yocto‑based Linux BSPs and low‑level system software.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, configure and maintain Yocto‑based Linux Board Support Packages for automotive platforms.
• Implement, debug and optimise device drivers, system daemons and platform services.
• Work on bootloaders, Linux kernel and overall system integration.
• Write and maintain C/C++ code for system services, middleware and telematics features.
• Integrate third‑party libraries, hardware abstraction layers and vendor SDKs (e.g., TelSDK).
• Support power‑management, suspend/resume, connectivity and telematics functionalities.
• Produce technical documentation and assist customer integration teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
• 2+ years of hands‑on experience with embedded Linux BSP and system programming.
• Proven experience in the automotive or telematics industry.
• Strong knowledge of the Yocto Project (layers, recipes, customisation).
• Proficiency in C/C++ development for embedded Linux.
• Experience with version‑control systems such as Git and Gerrit.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
