Chief Engineer – Facilities Management

About the role

We are looking for a Chief Engineer to lead all engineering and maintenance operations for a property in Belgrade. The role is responsible for the building, grounds and physical plant, with a strong focus on safety, security, asset protection and energy efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Manage engineering and maintenance budgets, capital expenditure projects and preventative maintenance programs.
• Oversee HVAC‑R, electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, water‑treatment and life‑safety systems to ensure optimal performance.
• Supervise day‑to‑day engineering activities and act as the point of contact in the Director of Engineering’s absence.
• Maintain regulatory compliance and lead the emergency response team for facility issues.
• Plan, schedule and evaluate maintenance work, including repairs, renovations and equipment replacement.
• Ensure accurate logging, record‑keeping and reporting of all engineering activities.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED with 4 years of engineering/maintenance experience, **or** a 2‑year degree in Building & Construction, Engineering, Mechanics or related field with 2 years of experience.
• Technical training in HVAC‑R, electrical and plumbing systems.
• Proven ability to manage budgets, capital projects and energy‑conservation initiatives.
