Data Engineer – Google Cloud Platform

About the role

As a Data Engineer at netconomy, you will design and implement modern, scalable data solutions on Google Cloud Platform. You will work within a collaborative Data & AI team to turn client data into actionable insights.

Key responsibilities

• Build efficient ETL/ELT pipelines to ingest, transform, and load data from databases, APIs, and streaming platforms into BigQuery and Cloud Storage.
• Implement batch and real‑time processing using Dataflow (Apache Beam) and Pub/Sub.
• Develop modular SQL transformation workflows with Dataform, including version control, testing, and automated scheduling.
• Create cost‑optimized BigQuery queries using partitioning, clustering, and denormalization.
• Orchestrate complex workflows with Cloud Composer (Apache Airflow) and event‑driven processing with Cloud Functions.
• Implement centralized data governance and metadata management using Dataplex.
• Monitor and optimize pipelines for performance, scalability, and cost with Cloud Monitoring and Cloud Logging.
• Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to understand requirements and deliver insights.

Required profile

• 3+ years of hands‑on experience as a Data Engineer.
• Proven expertise with Google Cloud Platform, especially BigQuery and Dataflow.
• Strong programming skills in Python and experience with data‑manipulation libraries.
• Excellent communication in English (minimum B2).
